Contactless payment

Contactless payment in the bus means that you can buy a ticket by card payment or any other payment device suitable for contactless payment that is linked to your debit card.

With contactless paymet you can buy only a personal ticket for yourself, so with this payment option you can’t pay your friends or childs trip.

  • In the big buses the driver will help with contactless payment if needed.

In the smaller buses (usually on line 1, Citylinja) and few big buses there is a remote reader with a screen, in which the customer will make the zone choices for themselves.

In the smaller buses contactless payment works as follows:

    • If you are making only a one-way trip in line 1 (Citylinja) between the bus stops of Puuvilla and Isomäki, make sure you choose from the screen only the zone “CITY.” The charge from this is 1€.
    • If you are making other trips in addition to line 1 within 60 minutes, makse sure you choose both CITY and A-zones from the screen. The charge is 3,50€ and you now have a valid ticket for 60 minutes to change a bus.

Payment card has to be always put to the remote reader, when you get on the bus. The background system is checking the validity of the ticket and possible capping in the used card. If the ticket is valid when the card is put on the reader, there will not be any additional charges made.

  • Contactless payment can be made with any payment card that has the contactless payment option and with a mobile device payment apps.

Every trip made in the same day has to be paid with a same card or mobile device. Even if you have added a same card in your mobile device (for example, ApplePay) that you have also as a physical card, they won’t increase the same capping. So every new payment method is going to start their own capping.

In the bus you can’t get an invoice from your contactless payment, but you can use the customer portal and look up made charges there: https://pori.littlepay.com/pori.

Background system uses firstly your cards debit number. So if you have a payment card that has both credit and debit, you can log in to the customer portal using the debit number.

  • You can only buy single tickets with contactless payment, which is always the same 3,50€ despite the age of the customer. Only in line 1 (Citylinja) the price is 1€ between the stops of Puuvilla and Isomäki.

Capping means the maximum charge of the payments made with contactless payment during 24h. So you will not pay more than three CITY-A-zone trips during 24h even if you make more trips than that.

In Pori, capping works like this:

    • In line 1 (Citylinja) between the stops of Puuvilla and Isomäki: charge 1€, no transfer time.
    • In any line in Pori and Ulvila region operated by Porin Linjat Oy, in City and A-zone: charge 3,50€, 60 minutes transfer time
    • Two contactless payments within 5 hours from each other: charge is maximum of 5€
    • Three or more contactless payments within 24 hours of each other: charge is maximum of 8€.

Capping is one of the reasons why you can only buy a ticket for yourself with the contactless payment.
