The first Pay What You Want Day of the year will be held on April 19

The first Pay What You Want Day of the year will be celebrated at Pori’s sports and cultural facilities on Easter Saturday. As usual, visitors can decide the price of their admission during the day.

According to the city’s Activity Program, which was under decision-making at the end of 2024, promoting physical activity is a shared goal for the entire city. The aim is to integrate the promotion of physical activity into the city’s own services and to encourage residents to be more active. Pori offers diverse opportunities for exercise, regardless of age or physical ability.

– According to the Activity Program, every step taken is beneficial, and that’s why I encourage everyone to try and see how many places they can visit during the day. If you travel between them by foot or bike, you’ll also get your daily exercise done, encourages Petteri Lahti, Head of the Sports Unit.

In addition to muscle-powered travel between venues, you can access places like the downtown swimming hall, the sports hall gym, or Karhuhalli during the day.

– The iron yard at Karhuhalli is currently available from 10AM to 12PM. At the Sports Hall, the public gym hours are from 12:00 PM to 4:30 PM. The available facilities can be used freely, and you can check the availability in advance via Timmi, Lahti continues.

Pori Art Museum is participating in the day again after a couple of years’ break.

– Pori Art Museum will offer guided tours of the current exhibitions at 10:30 AM and in plain Finnish at 3:30 PM. These are included in the admission fee that the visitor decides, says Jyri Träskelin, Head of the Cultural Unit.

The following services are participating in the day:

Central swimming hall 10.00–17.00
The Ark Nature Centre 11.00–17.00
Pori Art Museum 10.00–17.00 (Poriginal galleria myös taidemuseossa)
